Full Circle Dance was a conceptual dance piece centered around the use of technology and design to enhance the storytelling power of dance. As opposed to our usual process of our director starting with a narrative and designers responding, designers were invited in on the creative story-telling ideas that are generated early on in the process. For this show, we focused on the heartbreaking tragedy of school shootings that have become all too common in modern America. The dance was completed twice, once without tech, and again with. This allowed the design elements to come and piece together the story of this shattered situation.
